Shepherd of the Coast Lutheran Church – News and Notes
†Sunday, July 4, 2010 – Sixth Sunday after Pentecost †
Mission Statement: Serving the loving Christ by serving and loving others.
Church: 954-772-8010 + School & Learning Center 954-772-5468 + FAX: 954-772-2232

Bible Class Schedule: Our Sunday MorningBible Class will take a bit of a "summer break". There will be no Bible Class held today and on Sunday mornings during the rest of July. Our Sunday evening Bible Study, as well as our Wednesday morning Bible Study, will not be held during the months of July and August. These classes will pick back up on September 12 (Sunday), and September 15 (Wednesday).

Communion Schedule: Next Sunday, July 11th, we have had to adjust our communion schedule. We will not be offering the Lord’s Supper at any of our services on Sunday, July 11th. We go back to the regular schedule on July 18th.

Parking could become a bit of an adventure as we move forward on Phase II of Building Together to Serve. The west lot (next to the current Fire Station #35) will remain open and the parking to the north of our property (through the gate). The footers for the porte co-chere have been laid, so please exercise caution when driving in the west lot. The basketball court is no more. Just keep thinking about how wonderful everything will be when we finish this project.

Additional parking will be available on the former sites of the Teen Tower and Lord Building until further notice.

“ONE People-Sharing Christ’s Love” - In July, elected delegates representing our congregation and circuit will gather in Houston as brothers and sisters in Christ, united as ONE People-Forgiven (our convention theme) at the 65th Regular Convention of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Shepherd of the Coast is participating in a vital, special offering for the mission and ministry of the church. Donations toward the 2010 National Offering will be received at the door after worship today.

100 times 100 – We are putting together a prayer team for our Upward Sports Ministry which will begin in December 2010. We hope to have 100 people praying for the 100 days prior to our first game. If you want to pray for this incredible outreach opportunity, contact Pastor Dan. For information about the philosophy of Upward, see www.upward.org.
