Sunday, January 29, 2012 + The Fourth Sunday after the Epiphany
Bible Class is in the Library today at 9:15 am with Diana Nickel. Next week, we will begin the “face-to-face” version of Bible 101 on Sunday mornings. If you want to be a part of the class, but don’t have a computer or aren’t comfortable with online learning you can still participate.
New Communion Schedule: Today is the 5th Sunday of the month, so we have services of the Word (no Communion) at all services today.
Children’s Ministry – J.A.M, Our Jesus and Me Sunday School program is held during the 9:30 am Praise Service. We offer Nursery for infants through three year olds and we have classes for Three Year Olds through Fifth Grade.
Sign-Up Sheet to help in the 9:30 service is available in that worship folder. Lectors/readers are needed!
Wednesday Bible Class Pastor Stuehrenberg will begin a new class entitled Experiencing the Words of Jesus. Bible class meets in the Library at 10:00 am.
Bible 101 – This new online Bible study opportunity is launching today. If you have signed up, you should have your password and will be receiving weekly e-mails from Pastor Dan. There is still time to sign up. At this time 30 people are participating.
Bluegrass Service – Our monthly bluegrass service is today in the Family Life Center at 9:30 am.
Dare to read like a Lutheran How is this done? Concordia Publishing House has put together a collection of books and called it The Essential Lutheran Library: a collection of best-selling Lutheran works that provides the tools, prayers, and texts needed for today’s Lutherans. Stock up on the titles you need to complete you own library. Look for the sign-up form in the Church foyer and Family Life Center lobby or call the office.
Coming in February – Early Communion Classes for children in Grades 5 and 6. Contact Pastor Dan for more information. There will be a parent meeting with Pastor Dan for these classes on Sunday, February 5, following the 9:30 am service (about 10:30 am). If you can’t attend, please contact Pastor or the office as soon as possible.
The Prayer List is available in the foyer. Please check to see if any prayer needs have changed!
Scrip Pro is a fundraising program sponsored by Shepherd of the Coast Christian School. Scrip Pro purchases large quantities of gift cards from various establishments at a discount price. When we buy these gift cards from Scrip Pro, we too receive a discount. We then sell these gift cards to you at face value. The difference between the face value and the discounted price becomes our profit. Scrip Pro includes: restaurants, department stores, specialty stores, grocery stores, gas stations and much more. Our next order deadline is 8:30 am Monday, January 30th. Forms are available on the information wall located in the church foyer and gym lobby.
2012 Florida SeniorFest Saturday, February 18, 2012. Advent Lutheran Church, Boca Raton, 300 E. Yamato Road – 561.395.3632. Registration begins at 8:30 am – the day ends at 4:30 pm. Register by February 6, 2012. Cost $30.00 includes lunch. Space is limited. $35.00 at the door (if space is available)
The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League will have their next meeting Saturday, February 11th at 10:00 am. All ladies are invited to join us.
